Multicultural Day April 15 at MPTC

The public is invited to join Moraine
Park Technical College in celebrating the many cultures of the world during
Multicultural Day, Wednesday, April 15.
The free event runs from 11 a.m. to 1
p.m. in the cafeteria on the Fond du Lac campus, 235 N. National Ave.
Festivities begin with a parade
featuring international attire, followed by a fashion show of garments from
different cultures.
A global buffet will be served from 11
a.m. to 1 p.m. and the general public may purchase food for $5 per person.
Mexico en La Piel will perform a
folkloric ballet that includes a variety of native ballet-style dances from
different regions of Mexico.
Moraine Park students will also
present several performances, including music styles from Germany and the
Philippines, the Black National Anthem and salsa dancing.
Booths displaying cultural artifacts
will be set up for the duration of the event. Mexico, Ghana, South Africa,
Poland, the United Kingdom, Colombia, the Philippines, Jamaica, Japan,
China, the Hmong culture, Cuba and Germany will be represented.
Sponsors include the Multicultural
Club, Student Senate, diversity relations and human resources systems.
