Zhou Qiang Met with Mexican Ambassador to China

This
visit mainly aims to further promote the cooperation between Mexico and
Hunan in economy and trade.
Zhou
Qiang, on behalf of Hunan Provincial People's Government, welcomed
Ambassador Jorge Guajardo. He appreciated Mexico's measures taken and
effects achieved in combating the Influenza A virus subtype H1N1, and
briefed Hunan's general situations including its industrial development and
specific measures taken to ensure sound and relatively fast economic growth
against this financial crisis.
Zhou
said Mexico and China maintain good relationship. In recent years,
cooperation between Hunan and Mexico in trade and economy keeps growing.
Zhou hoped that the two parties could further expand cooperation in various
areas based on such sound cooperation. First, Mexico and China can enhance
cooperation in industries like engineering equipment, non-ferrous metals,
steels, etc. which are Hunan's competitive industries, and Mexico's
complementary advantageous industries like electromechanics etc.. Second,
further promote the bilateral trade by encouraging more enterprises to
invest in the other side and increase exports of the two parties. Third,
deepen cooperation in such areas as culture, education, tourism, etc.,
especially in overseas education at the college level as both parties enjoy
time-honored history and brilliant culture.
Mexico's
Ambassador Jorge Guajardo introduced Mexico's investing advantages as well
as the effects Mexican government has achieved in handling the Influenza A
virus subtype H1N1. He said that Hunan and Mexico enjoy many commonalities
and complementarities, which will be important bases for the two parties to
conduct strategic cooperation in the future. Jorge Guajardo hoped that
Mexico and Hunan would establish extensive cooperative relationship in more
areas. Mexico is ready to help Hunan products gain even broader markets in
Central America, and he sincerely welcomed more Hunan enterprises to invest
in Mexico.
